“The harder I work, the luckier I get.” ~Samuel Goldwyn
Many people would have you believe that luck is some magical force that strikes randomly, without cause, and without reason.
Indeed the world can be unfair but more often than not it is true that what goes around comes around.
Seneca describes luck as “what happens when preparation meets opportunity” and he was right on the money.
One of the best moments of the past year for me was when I scored the game winning goal at the end of a hard fought battle against an elite soccer team.
I was “lucky” to be in the right place at the right time to get a pass and bury the ball in the back of the net.
But what really was my luck?
My commitment to frequent exercise gave me the strength to sprint past their defender and score.
Preparation created a lucky opportunity and I capitalized.
Opportunities are unlimited for those people prepared to take action when they come into view.
Step up your skills today so you’ll be ready to strike when your chance comes in the future. Your chance will come – it’s up to you to prepare.
Life does not get easier, you just get better.
Make your own luck.
