“Progress is the attraction that moves humanity.” ~Marcus Garvey
So last night I went and saw 50 Shades of Grey…
I’ve heard practically every woman I know talk about it for the past year so I figured I’d give it a go…
And it was pretty good, even though I’m not into the whole whips and bondage thing.
What intrigued me is what was left unsaid.
The billionaire main character Christian Grey is in his own words “50 Shades of Fucked Up” and I left the theater wanting to know why.
Certainly this is part of the reason why 50 Shades entered the all-time top-selling books list with over 100 million copies sold worldwide…
Because it left the readers guessing and wanting more.
The good news is that you can and should apply this to your social media strategy and leave your followers wanting more…
Here are some ways you can keep your audience captivated:
- Focus on quality content, not quantity, especially on Facebook and Instagram. Twitter is a different beast and you should post there more often.
- Don’t bleed the feed. A post or two a day on Facebook and Instagram are plenty if the quality is there. If you’re going to upload multiple photos to Facebook upload them in a gallery.
- Upload images and videos directly to Twitter (Yes, you can upload videos to Twitter now) and Facebook rather than through a third party app.
- Spend more time growing your network and creating new connections, less time spewing out content.
