2015 is here and I’m coming to you from Canada the cold.
It’s -21 Celsius outside my window as I sit here writing this for you.
It’s as cold out there as my ex-girlfriends heart.
Despite the weather I want to help you get fired up so you can make this your best year ever!
The following 15 points are powerful strategies that can help you make 2015 a bright and blazing success.
1. Listen to More Audio Books & Podcasts
Although there’s less air guitar involved when listening to audio books the positive benefits can be profound.
To really reap the rewards here I recommend making listening to success materials for at least 20 minutes per day.
Commit to listening to at least one podcast or at least 20 minutes of an audio book per day and this will add up to over 7,300 minutes of additional positive influence you are adding to your life over a year.
I’ll be dropping plenty of helpful MP3’s this year; some on my blogs and some as premium content for members of the Social Media Income Lab.
2. Do More Random Acts of Kindness
Yesterday I saw a guy trying to push his stalled SUV out of traffic on a busy road.
I stopped and got out of the car I was in to help him push his vehicle into a nearby parking lot.
Even though I was the one helping him this made me feel great and I still feel good thinking about it because he really appreciated it.
Buy a coffee for the person behind you, smile at the person walking by on the street, and help out whenever you can even when you get no material benefit in return.
Build up your karma and don’t be surprised when the positive vibes come flowing back your way.
3. Invest In Yourself
“The best investment you can make is in yourself.”
An investment in yourself always pays the best interest.
The more you value yourselves
When you respect yourself enough to take good care of your fitness, hygiene, and style others will respect you more as well.
Invest in your heath, fitness, and knowledge and the benefits will come back to you ten fold.
Invest more time into taking action towards your goals.
Find a sense of urgency in your action.
You time on this earth is limited so respect your time and invest your time wisely and make your goals a reality.
If you want your goals and dreams to come true you’ve got to chase them down and make them come to you.
4. Set Massive Goals
“Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.”
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Without ambitious goals you will not be inspired to take the massive action necessary to achieve them.
Mediocre goals will lead to mediocre results and a mediocre life.
Don’t settle for mediocre: go for greatness and resolve to take great actions and make great things happen.
5. Exercise Daily
“The first wealth is health.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Daily exercise strengthens your body, elevates your mood, and sharpens your mind.
Find exercises that work for you and figure out a routine that you can stick to.
A great strategy for getting great fitness results from the comfort of your own home is to check out the awesome programs from BeachBody.
6. Do More
Massive action is a natural state – look at any child.
They are constantly taking action and doing as much as they possibly can.
Take a similar approach and make the most of every minute in your life.
Don’t just passively go through the motions.
Rise above mediocrity and strive for greatness.
Be active and activate your passion to make your life exceptional.
7. Don’t Be a Victim
Quit looking for other people and things to blame and start taking more responsibility for everything that happens to you.
The next time something bad happens don’t look for someone to blame, own it. Ask yourself how you could prevent something similar from happening in the future.
Strive for so much success that your problems pale in comparison.
By taking control and accepting responsibility for all areas of your life you will be able to avoid more painful situations and create more positive outcomes.
8. Eat Healthier Foods
Take more control over what you eat because what you eat can be the difference between you being obese and miserable, or lean and full of energy and vigor.
I workout daily but only when I started really watching what I eat was I able to rapidly drop over 40 pounds.
Your food is either the fuel that you can use to step up your game or a brick that drags you down and leaves you gasping for air.
Healthy food can be every bit as delicious as junk food so make smarter choices about the food you buy.
Eat healthy and you’ll be rewarded with a boost of energy and vitality, instead of feeling bloated and weighed down by junk food.
9. Evaluate Your Social Circle
Your friends will either lift you up or hold you back.
There is no avoiding this: you will be influenced by the people around you.
Surround yourself people who help you enhance your life and achieve your goals.
Cut out the people who drag you down, and discourage you from taking action and moving towards your goals.
10. Write Down Your Goals and Wins Often
Often, often, write your goals and wins down often.
Keeping your goals in mind will help you stay motivated to take action and get closer to achieving them.
For writing down your goals I recommend the free app: Google Keep.
I use Google Keep for not only a list of my goals here are a few other lists I have created with this app:
- A “Books to Read” List
- A “Profitable Things to Do” List
- A Wi-Fi Passwords List
- A “To Buy” List
- A “Music to Download” List
But the most important list on this app is the list of my goals.
Some people print off their goals and hang them on the wall of office so they can be seen often.
This seems like a smart idea to me because the more often you are reminded of your goals the more often you will take action towards achieving them.
When you have more focus and attention on your goals you’ll have a better chance of achieving them.
Write your goals down daily so you are consistently thinking about what you need to do to make them happen.
Also write down your three biggest wins at the end of every day so you can reflect on the positive actions you took and write down three actions you can take the next day to win and make more progress towards your goals.
11. Drink Less Alcohol
Seven years ago I lost my drivers license for drinking and driving.
Although I never crashed my car or hurt anyone I still have deep regret for that mistake to this day.
A fact that I have observed is that people are far more likely to make mistakes when they are drunk.
Drink less and you’ll be less likely to make a mistake like the one I made.
If you do drink make sure you don’t drive. Give your keys to someone you trust or just get a cab. Even when the cab ride is long it’s worth it.
12. Avoid Injury at The Gym
I’ve been working out for over a decade at the gym and I’ve injured myself badly twice, once just two days ago.
Both times I was going extra heavy and trying to set a new one rep personal record.
The lesson that I’m learning from the pain I feel even as I write this is that it’s a much better idea to go for sets in the 6 – 10 rep range or higher.
Avoid going for your one rep max unless you’re 100% positive you can do so without injury.
13. Tap Into The Power of Positive Routines
When you establish positive routines you can tap into the power consistency can create.
A few of the positive routines I stick to as often as I can include:
- Drinking a tall glass of water first thing when I wake up
- Exercising every day
- Showering, flossing, and brushing my Teeth
- Eating high protein food every day
- Getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night
- Writing a daily email newsletter
- Posting on social media
14. Strive for Greatness
Don’t settle for an average life: strive for greatness.
Sometimes you might get injured, just make sure to come back stronger than before.
Earlier this week I injured my lower back dead lifting…
I had just completed a set of 405 X 3 so I figured I could get 495 X 1…
But my lower back disagreed.
Since then I have had an intense work out every day because I refuse to let an injury keep me from making gains.
Challenge yourself with a new exercise program and you’ll gain new strength and vitality.
I recommend checking out the programs from BeachBody since they are the best thing you can do for your fitness aside from hitting the gym.
15. Strengthen Your Network
Your network is directly related to your net worth.
I recommend using every major social media site to grow your online brand.
The more people you are connected with the better you will be able to market any products or services you offer.
My most powerful and profitable social networking tips can be found inside the Social Media Income Lab so if you want to grow your network and tap into the massive potential of social media I strongly encourage you to join me inside the Social Media Income Lab and our exclusive Facebook and LinkedIn communities.
