“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.”
The video above is one of Bruce Lee’s most timeless pieces of wisdom.
Water does not think, it finds every opportunity and flows through it.
Stagnant water creates bacteria and should not be drank, moving water filters down through the earth and when brought up from a deep well tastes refreshing and clean.
Still water and moving water are like meditation and movement. Although both meditation and movement have merit let us not forget that it takes movement and action to make things happen.
Do not let analysis affect you with paralysis.
Take action towards your goals and before long you will start to achieve, and your achievements will help give you confidence and motivation to pursue bigger and bolder goals.
Fluid Web Design
A recent innovation in web design is the ability for the CSS of a website to be like water and adapt to the screen the site is being viewed on.
This is known as fluid (responsive) design.
All of my WordPress powered blogs have now been updated to a new fluid design and I am encouraging my clients to do the same so they can make the most of their online presence.
Toward that end I have purchased a top of the line dedicated server in the cloud that now hosts all of my websites and I am pleased to see that my sites are now faster than ever and my traffic is on the rise.
Google has confirmed that there is a direct link between SEO and site speed.
The graphic below shows the correlation between site speed and site abandonment.
Not surprisingly the longer your site takes to load the more people will leave.
