Krithikai...I think you're missing the point of what he's doing online. Not everyone wants to be blasted with a 'sales letter' at every opportunity. We get that everywhere. Some of us prefer the slower evolution of a brand that Garin offers, creating community, sharing useful info and free stuff while patiently building a community of people, not just 'conversions'.

That approach you hint at reminds of those 80s business books where you gotta seal the deal, no matter what the customer wants. That doesn't last over time because it is a fundamentally flawed approach to human dynamics. You get one sale, but they don't return for more because the experience was not win-win in retrospect. I'd much rather spend my money to support someone with a solid product or service who also offers more value, than a taker with an aggressive stance from marketing 101.

When was the last time you accepted a telemarketing call? When was the last time you took a call from a friend? Why? Trust and respect. That's what I think he's building here.

Cheers.

Hey Peter,

Thanks for your comment, and you are quite right!  My focus from the start has been to build a community and add value, rather than just trying to sell stuff.

Win-win is the way to go and by focusing on helping others first I have been able to able to acquire many customers, and probably far more referrals than the guy who is just trying to make a buck.

I admit my copy writing could be better, I am no Clayton Makepeace or John Carlton, but it has not hindered me in building the kind of business I want, a kind of business that is deserving of trust and respect.

Cheers!

Haha, thanks for the compliment! :)
